All Progressives Congress Governors To Welcome Matawalle Into Party On Tuesday In Zamfara
Eighteen All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, led by Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state are expected in Zamfara on Tuesday (Tomorrow) to formally receive Governor Bello Matawalle into their fold.
Matawalle was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after the Supreme Court nullified the victory of the APC in the 2019 elections in the state due to an internal party crisis.

Before then, Zamfara was an APC state with the governor and the majority of the federal and state lawmakers from the ruling party.
Yusuf Idris, Matawalle’s Director-General of Media said the ceremony in which the governor will be the latest PDP renegade, will also witness the defection of legislators.
A grand rally has been organised for Matawalle’s defection to APC which will hold at the Trade Fair Complex in Gusau, the state capital by 10am.
The governor will be received by APC officers both from the state and the national level.
