Kano Corps Member Dies After Sustaining Spinal Cord Injury From Physiotherapy Equipment
A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Adewole Oluwaseyi, who is also a trained Physiotherapist, has passed on.
The corps member was said to have tripped while using one of the physiotherapy equipment at the Karaye Cam Clinic at the NYSC orientation camp in Kano State, which was reportedly his Primary Place of Assignment.
The fall, according to a source, resulted in Spinal Cord Injury C3 ASIA A which Oluwaseyi battled till his death on Monday 25th of October, 2021.
However, the family had encountered difficulty in obtaining the corpse and burying him due to the unsettled hospital bill to the tune of N360,000.
A colleague of his wrote: “I am sorry to announce the demise of one of us when we were in Karaye Camp clinic, his name was Adewole Oluwaseyi; he was a Physiotherapist.
“He had a fall from one of the physiotherapy equipment which led to Spinal Cord Injury C3 ASIA A. We lost him on Monday, 25th October 2021
“His parents sent their appreciation of every form of effort that was put out there with the intent to keep him with us but God knows best.
”A bid to move on would be proper burial of his body which is currently being hindered by inability of the parents to settle the hospital bills, roughly #360,000 according to the recent update from his father.
“Involvement of the FG is being looked into as he was a corp member but you know how long going by the book takes, a letter has just been sent to Abuja. So, I'm soliciting on behalf of the parents, at their request, for your financial support.”
